Product Pipeline

Phico’s SASPjectTM technology comprises a completely new class of antibacterial agent and is aimed initially at bacteria that are resistant to conventional antibiotics.

SASPjectTM PT1.2 is aimed at Staphylococcus aureus, including MRSA, and will be used for the intra-nasal decolonisation of MRSA. This SASPjectTM has completed pre-clinical trials and is expected to enter a Phase I clinical trial in late 2008.

SASPjectTM PT2.0 is aimed at Clostridium difficile and will be formulated for oral therapy against C. difficile associated disease (CDAD). This SASPjectTM is in development.

SASPjectTM PTS3.2 is aimed at the Staphylococci, including S. aureus and S. epidermidis, and will be used for IV administration primarily as an add-on to existing broad spectrum antibiotics to ensure therapeutic activity against MRSA. The lead SASPjectTM vector is in late stage selection.

SASPjectTM technology is also being applied to antibiotic resistant Gram negative bacteria such as Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Acinetobacter spp. PT4.0 is in early stage lead selection.
