Mr. Allan Hirst, Non Exec Director

In February, 2005, Allan chose to take early retirement after a 24 year career with Citigroup. After assignments in Latin America, the Middle East and Europe, he spent most of the last 15 years leading Citibank's expansion into Central and Eastern Europe, Russia and Central Asia.

From 1999-2004 Allan lived in Moscow where he was President of ZAO Citibank (the 12th largest bank in Russia) and, at the same time, managed the recapitalisation and restructuring of Citigroup’s corporate and investment banking businesses in their markets. Allan also led the introduction of Citibank's retail banking and credit card business lines in Russia. From 2001-2004 Allan was also a member of the Supervisory Board of Directors and Chairman of the Audit Committee of Bank Handlowy w Warszawa, a Polish banking subsidiary of Citigroup listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.

From 1991-1998 Allan lived in Warsaw where he led the negotiations leading to the founding of Citibank (Poland) S.A. (since merged with Bank Handlowy). Allan served as its CEO until 1995 when he assumed business responsibility for Citibank's expansion in the region. In that capacity he led the opening of banking subsidiaries in Slovakia, Romania, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan and Ukraine in addition to overseeing growing franchises in Hungary, Poland, the Czech Republic and Russia.

In addition to Phico Therapeutics, Allan serves on other Boards including the Financial Services Volunteer Corps (New York) and Ros Bank (Moscow).
