Dr. Flic Gabbay, Non Exec Chair

Flic has over 25 years’ experience in senior management positions in the pharmaceutical industry and where she has been CEO, Director or Vice President working in large pharma, biotech and contract research. Flic was also a Director of Education at the Drug Safety Research Unit in Southampton. Flic now works mainly as a consultant in clinical and regulatory affairs specialising in anti-infective development and is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Portsmouth. Flic has been involved with a number of early stage biotechnology companies, including acting as CEO for Kanvir and was CEO of Rademacher Group Ltd and is currently a non executive director of Bioanalab, a specialist biotechnology contract laboratory.

Prior to this, Flic founded and ran a clinical research organisation, the Gabbay Group which was acquired by PPD where Flic stayed on for a period as Vice President of Regulatory and Product Development. Previously Flic worked for Warner Lambert Parke Davis for nine years, latterly as Regional Research Director for Parke Davis responsible for Europe, Australia and S. Africa; and prior to this spent a spell in the US as Worldwide Head of Anti Infective Drug Development.

Flic holds a Bachelor of Medicine and a Bachelor of Surgery degree from the University of Manchester and is a Fellow of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Medicine and a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, and has a BSc in Pharmacology. She has been involved in the founding of two medical charities, the Society of Pharmaceutical Medicine of which she was the Founder Chairman, and the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Medicine where she was the Chair of the Royal College of Physicians Steering group responsible for its formation. She has sat on a number of expert academic, public and regulatory advisory boards relating to drug development.
